John W. Sensakovic, 77, of Lincroft passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at JFK Medical Center, Edison, He was born and raised in Perth Amboy and settled in Lincroft in 1983. John worked as an infectious disease specialist, Director of Infection Control department at JFK medical center, Corporate Director of Medical Education at Saint Michael’s Medical Center, Director of Nosocomial Disease Laboratory at Saint Michael’s, and Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education at Seton Hall University.

He was a loving, supportive husband, father, grandfather, and physician. John was devoted to his family and his patients throughout his life. His colleagues would never hesitate to consult with Dr. Sensakovic for medical advice due to his vast expertise and wisdom. He was awarded the Clara Barton Medical Service award, and was selected as one of the top five infectious disease specialists in New Jersey, as well as numerous other awards.When not working at the hospital or lecturing, John enjoyed being on Long Beach Island, surrounded by family and friends. He loved fishing, wine, and going out to dinner. His love for boating was exemplified in his ownership of the Sonia Michele, Beverly Anne, and the Triple Treasure. John loved spending time with his three grandchildren, Lauren Michele, JT, and Annie. They were the pride and joy of his life. He will always be remembered as a loving, selfless man who put the needs of others before his own.

John is predeceased by his parents Francis and Stella Sensakovic. John is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Beverly Sensakovic, children Sonia Marie Handshy and her husband Rob of Illinois, and Michele Sensakovic of Freehold and her fiance James, grandchildren Lauren, JT, Annie, sister-in-law Bette Jane Lubas and her husband Henry, siblings Fran, Steven and Carolyn, and nephews Justin and Jonny Lubas.

Visitation will be held at John E. Day funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
